Welcome

would like to begin by saying welcome to the new Lavish Studio Blog, and my first post. I have been very busy designing and building this new site, and I’m thrilled to finally have it finished. It’s been a labour of love and a long time in the making, so I’d love to hear what you think. (Please don’t be shy… leave me a comment if you’re so inclined.) Seeing as this blog is all about Lavish news, I can honestly say I have amazing news! I will be running a commercial for Lavish Studio on WIN TV in the near future, soon after the Olympics have finished. It’s an ideal way to get the word out about Lavish Studio, and I’m very excited about that. I decided I wanted to film the footage myself, but because the idea was to show me at work preparing and photographing a client in my studio, of course it was impossible to do the recording all on my own! It’s at times like these that it’s invaluable to have supportive and extremely talented friends, who also happen to be brilliant photographers! Lisa Nankervis and Terri Basten both generously agreed to help me, and even though none of us had ever shot video footage on our SLR cameras before, we all leapt into the project with optimism and enthusiasm.

The footage that Lisa and Terri shot is nothing short of amazing, and I will be forever grateful to them for their time, patience and support for what turned out to be a very big undertaking! I think it’s pretty funny that this first ever attempt at motion footage will be broadcast on TV. Of course the add will be very short… only 15 seconds in fact, and there will be a combination of footage and finished photographs to demonstrate what Lavish Studio is all about. Well, a tiny glimpse anyway. The thing is the girls shot so much great footage that I am going to edit a promo video as well, which will feature here on the web site. Of course it will be great to be able to make that promo quite a bit longer than the 15 second TV add, and I intend to show what it’s like to have a photography session at Lavish Studio, starting with hair and make-up, the process of being posed and photographed and the gorgeous finished images.

I will post an update about the TV add and the promo video soon…
